There are several telltale signs to look for. These develop at different stages of gestation:
- The earliest point at which you will be able to tell is between 14 and 21 days after mating. Close examination of the pregnant female’s nipples will reveal that they are slightly enlarged and pink, and this is an early indication that she has kittens on the way.
- Later on, the ventral or belly area will show signs of enlargement and the underbelly fur mat appear more dense than usual.
- During the 30- to 40-day period, it should become more obvious from the weight gain and distended belly that your cat is carrying kittens towards full term, at 60-65 days.

I have a female tabby cat that is just about over a year old, I have no idea if she is pregnant or not, she has never had kittens before and I have never had a cat that has had kittens so this is the 1st time for both of us. Her nipples have been getting pinker and larger, she has been eating a lot recently and defiantly wants more attention. Although her stomach hasn’t gotten bigger at all. Please if you can help me that would be great.
Thank you
Megan

Hi i have a pregnant cat as you said her nipples are bigger and pink.the problem is, i’m scared the baby in her stomach is unwell because one day my cat was lying down on the floor rug which was the same colour as my cat.It was orange. Then I was walking around my house then suddenly i accidentally stepped on my cat’s stomach! It was pretty fluffy though..But i cannot believe what i had done to her!! Will anything happen to the embryo?

I thought my 20 month old kitty was pregnant, but after 40 days, she is now acting like she is in heat again. rolling around and acting very much like she want my male kitten again . he was only 8 months old last month when I noticed them togather. Is it possable that he was to young to be a daddy ? And maybe she is not pregnant?
